Audio and video calling is an integration between Facebook groups and chats on Messenger. Community Chats allow users to contact people who are in a group they have created. Yes, this is a tool that is already on many other social media sites, such as Twitter Spaces. It is also similar to a service such as Discord channels, allowing users to join group chats, call them, send texts, and add more participants. Other abilities include an Admin role who has permission to create a chat, moderate them, start audio channels, and send out view-only chats. In its announcement, Facebook says members of a group can choose to include video when they enter an audio chat.
Abilities
It is only possible for members of audio channels to enter a Community Chat. Admins will be given the following moderation abilities to ensure chats are secure: “Moderation capabilities like blocking, muting or suspending group members, and removing members or messages, as well as Admin Assist, which allows admins to set custom criteria that will automatically suspend users, remove reported messages, and stop messages from ineligible authors or containing violating content from being sent.” Users in Community Chats can report both admins and messages to Facebook, block other users, or leave a chat whenever they want.
