In its latest announcement, AMD is showing results for the RX 7900 XTX running on four games: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village, and Watch Dogs: Legion. It seems that the XTX will mostly keep pace with the more powerful Nvidia RTX 4090. The only game where a direct comparison between the rival GPUs is available is Cyberpunk 2077. AMD’s new flagship ends up around 155 slows than Nvidia’s RTX 4090. That flagship manages 78 frames per second (fps) according to DigitalTrends, while AMD shows the XTX achieves 72fps and is 8% slower. Maybe that is too much of a gap for some, but it is worth noting the RX 7900 XTX costs $600 less than the RTX 4090. Buying the AMD product will also avoid power connector overheating that is causing issues on Nvidia’s GPU.
